FAQ: Concealed Carry Class
What time does class start?
8:00 am, and ends at when we complete class.
How long is class?
The classroom portion is 8 hours plus the range time.
Where is the class?
We hold our classes at 1986 Big Neck Road, Ash.
Does the class fee include the Student Handbook?
Yes the class fee does include the student handbook.
Do I need to own a gun to take the course?
No, we have some you can use. We charge $25 for the rental of the gun which includes ammunition for the course.
What do I need to bring to class?
Bring your pistol you intend to shoot, a minimum of 30 rounds of ammo, a holster, eye and hearing protection.
What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes. For the shooting portion, you are going to need sneakers or boots. Please dress for the weather, as the shooting portion will be outside.
If I don’t have the items needed for class can I purchase them?
Yes, we have eye and hearing protection for sale. We can also sell ammunition to you.
I don’t have a pistol yet, do you recommend a gun dealer?

I am not sure of what kind of gun I want to purchase, do you have some I can try?
Yes we do, we charge $25 for the cleaning of the gun after use. Plus the cost of the ammunition that was shot.
I have never shot a gun before, will the concealed carry class teach me how to shoot?
No, this course is designed to teach North Carolina Laws for concealed carry, the Basics of Pistol Shooting is designed to teach the fundamentals of safe gun handling and shooting.
How do I pay for the class?
The class is $90.00. We accept all forms of payment, there is a 3% discount for cash.
FAQ: Obtaining Concealed Carry Permit
I moved to NC from another State and still have my Concealed Carry permit, is it valid?
No; Once you became a resident of North Carolina, the permit issued to you by your old state would then become invalid due to you not being a resident of that state.
What does it take to obtain my NC Concealed Carry Permit?
Visit the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office website for specific information.
How long does it take to receive my permit?
Each application is unique, it can take up to 90 days to receive your permit back.
May I purchase a Handgun prior to receiving my concealed carry permit?
Yes you can. At the gun store they will run a background check prior to the sale of the firearm.
